quished title and assumed surname of Mountbatten. Married (1922), Hon. Edwina
Cynthia Annette Ashley (died 1960, in North Borneo, on tour as Superintendent
inChief, St John Ambulance Brigade), daughter of Lord Mount Temple, PC
(Countess Mountbatten of Burma, CI, GBE, DCVO, LLD); two daughters (Third
Officer Patricia Edwina Victoria Mountbatten, WRNS).
